You can delete your Gewerber account at any time – right in the app or with a short email. No reasons needed, no costs involved.
What gets deleted
- Your account (email address and password)
- Your profile details and settings
- Data you created in the app (invoices, time tracking, bookkeeping)
- Documents and receipts you uploaded
Deletion is permanent.
Option 1: In the app
The fastest way is directly in the Gewerber app:
- Open Settings → Account.
- Go to the “Delete account” section.
- Confirm the deletion there.
Option 2: By email
No longer have the app installed or cannot sign in? Send an email from the address you registered with to datenschutz@gewerber.de, subject “Delete account”. This button opens a prefilled draft – just send it:
How long does it take?
We process your request as quickly as possible, at the latest within 30 days, and confirm the deletion by replying to your registered email address.
Statutory retention periods
One honest exception: if your account contains business documents such as invoices, statutory retention periods under German law may apply (GoBD/AO, usually 8–10 years). As long as such an obligation exists, we are not allowed to delete these documents – regardless of the rest of the account. Everything without a statutory retention obligation is removed completely.
